Get Pregnant

When you have unprotected sex during your monthly periods, you can get pregnant and this is how.  Conception will occur at the fallopian tubes but can also occur along the uterus where the egg can meet the sperm.  In many cases, fertilization will happen in the fallopian tubes also called oviducts but if it makes its way towards the uterus, it can still get fertilized.  As menstruation occurs, the egg might propel towards the uterus and when there is sperm, fertilization and pregnancy will occur.

When the egg is fertilized, it will work towards implantation which will be made possible by the lining of the uterus.  Hormones will be released to make the process of gestation as comfortable as possible as pregnancy progresses.  Some bleeding can occur at this time and many will think they are having their normal periods as usual.  This bleeding is not an indication that you are not pregnant and the best thing to do in this case is to go for a test that will confirm whether or not you are.  The process of ovulation can cause this bleeding and women should know that even with bleeding occurring, chances of pregnancy are high.

Unprotected sex during menstruation is able to make the above happen but many argue that there are slim chances of pregnancy occurring.  To avoid unwanted pregnancies, it will be wise to use protection even when menstruating.  Protect yourself not just from pregnancy but from sexually transmitted infections as well.  Take note that sperm is able to live and survive in the female body for up to 3 days and sometimes more.  This goes to show that it is possible for fertilization and pregnancy to occur when you least expect.
