Get Pregnant

There have been some strange things that have happened lately in our world.  This mainly comes as a result of a show that was aired by Oprah Winfrey.  On it she had what was considered as being the world’s first pregnant man and people started to get confused.  For anyone who wonders can a man get pregnant there are a few things that are important and which they should know.

Going by the name Thomas Beatie today, the former female Hawaiian beauty pageant winner decided early on in life that she didn’t want to be a girl.  So she started on hormone therapy and eventually began to look like a man, which was when she changed her name.  He had already started on hormone therapy to grow hair and lose his breasts, so he looked like a man but he still had the reproductive organs of the woman.  They actually didn’t need any help because Thomas still had the reproductive organs of his female self.

What this meant was that they were able to use sperm and have a baby of their very own.  So no, it’s not true that a man can get pregnant although it can be hard to tell the difference in a case like this and people were definitely shocked when they saw it.  Men can’t get pregnant because they need the reproductive organs of a woman.  This show sparked great debate and there were people all over the world who had an opinion to give.

People also started to get confused and think that maybe men could get pregnant.  Female reproductive organs are required to actually develop the baby in the uterus and give birth to the baby.  It’s amazing the options they have when it comes to having children these days.  The invitro fertilization techniques are quite popular and are used to help couples having troubles with getting pregnant.

Then there are also surrogates who can bear the child for a couple if they’re unable to do it on their own.  The baby would be created from the woman’s egg and the man’s sperm but then grown in another woman’s body.  These are women who will actually bear a child for a couple using the woman in that couple’s egg and the man’s sperm.  That way it’s still actually the couple’s baby but they are using the body of another to bear it because the woman may not be able to on her own.
